Baseline Out of Bounds

Proven Baseline Out of Bounds Plays

Stack Alignment - "Post Lob"

This play is designed to take advantage of a height mismatch. It can create severe problems for any team that does not have the size and/or does not defend screens well.

Right Side Entry

Lob Pass: O4 steps out to short corner and O3 sets a screen for O5. Inbounder O2 makes lob pass to O5 moving to the basket off O2's screen. O2 can also pass to O3 or O4 if open. Point O1 releases and pops out for safety valve pass.

Base Screen Option: If lob is not available, O2 looks to inbound the ball to O3 or O4 or makes a direct pass out to O1. O4 sets a baseline screen for the inbounder passer O2. If O2 is not open coming off O4's screen, then O1 initiates and flows into the predetermined continity.

Stack Alignment - "Pinch Double"

When the defense plays to the inside or zones, the baseline double is an effective play to get a shooter open for a high percentage shot.

Right Side Entry

Double Screen On inbounder O2's signal, O4 and O5 step in and set a double screen of defender X2. Shooter O2 pops out to short corner for high percentage shot. Point O1 releases back for safety value pass.

Base Tandem Option: If shooter does not take the shot or if the ball is inbounded directly to O1, O3 cuts off of O5's, and O4's down screens. O1 looks to feed O3 or initiate a predetermined continuity.

Left Side Entry

Stack Alignment - "Loop"

The Stack Loop effectively uses double screens to create high percentage shots for shooters. The stack alignment itself, also, creates immediate overload problems when the opponent trys to zone.

Right Side Entry

Base Loop O3 loops around O4's and O5's double screen along baseline, as O1 rubs off it to short corner. O5 then screens for O4 to break the double screen. Inbounder O2 looks to feed O3 along baseline or O1 moving out or O4 rolling to basket off O5's screen.

Tandem Double Option: After inbounding the ball to O1 or O3, the inbounds pass O2 loops out to the top of the circle for shot off O4's and O5's down screens.

Automatic Option: If/when defender X1 cheats over O4's and O5's double screen, O1 back cuts to basket for quick shot.

Left Side Entry

Base Loop O3 loops around O4's and O5's double screen along baseline, as O1 rubs off it to short corner. O5 then screens for O4 to break the double screen. Inbounder O2 looks to feed O3 along baseline or O1 moving out or O4 rolling to basket off O5's screen.

Tandem Double Option: After inbounding the ball to O1 or O3, the inbounds pass O2 loops out to the top of the circle for shot off O4's and O5's down screens.
