In most cases, having to go the length of the court to score in less than 4 seconds can be an insurmountable and hopeless situation. However, a well prepared team has the capability to score with only one second left on the game clock. Although chances of having to go the length of court and score with less than 4 seconds is very unlikely, teams still must be prepared for it. You cannot expect players to execute anything that has not been practiced.
Just inbounding the ball against severe full court pressure can be a nightmare. In this situation, the defense has a 5-on-4 numerical advantage. When leading and the defense aggressively denying the inbounds pass, executing a baseline out of bounds play, just to get the ball successfully inbounds becomes a viable option rather than risking a five second count or turnover.
Keep it simple. Go to your best player, then height and best shooter third. Be sure to substitute. You will need your best "inbounder" and shooters on court. Scout, players should be alert to what type of defense to expect. If the defense is behind, they must press. If the defense is ahead they will play soft or zone.

If time permits, the most preferable option is to advance the ball into the front court and take a time out. If is much better to have the ball at midcourt with only 3 seconds remaining than full court with 4 seconds.
